ARTS FIFTH AVENUE
AND DONATE TODAY!
Welcome to Arts Fifth Avenue (A5A) in Fort Worth, TX ...where the arts are alive, waiting for you to discover, experience, and express at our eclectic neighborhood visual and performing arts center.
Located at the corner of 5th Avenue and West Allen Avenue in the Fairmount Southside Historic District of Fort Worth, we invite you to enjoy a variety of classes in the performing and visual arts for ages 4 years to adult.
Also enjoy our productions of theatre, music, art exhibitions,
dance concerts and much more.
A5A was incorporated and received its 501c3 designation in 1992.
Our Mission is to provide a forum of expression for visual and
performing artists; and to stimulate, develop and preserve interest in
Tap Dance and Jazz Music and to educate the public, particularly youth,
about these uniquely American art forms.
We are the home of LAFEET TAP ENSEMBLE, our adult & youth tap company
who share their love & performance of Tap, a uniquely American dance form, with the community; and the 5TH AVENUE HI-NOTES, a vocal chorus who sing just for the sheer joy of it and will sing for any occasion.
A5A maintains a full 12-month calendar of events. In 2018 we hosted or produced a total of 71 events including small theatrical productions, dance performances, concerts & recitals, and more. This includes A5A's annual celebrations of National Tap Dance Day, our 3-night Django Reinhardt Festival (the only annual festival in the Southwest), Shakespeare in the Park(ing lot), A Jazzy Christmas, A Jazzy Valentine, annual Murder Mystery dinner theater fundraisers, 1st Saturday Free tap classes, annual tribute to Dallas musician James Clay, in addition to performances by local musicians, staged readings and productions by local independent theatre groups (both non & for-profit), master classes with national artists, artist exhibits, vocal and violin recitals, burlesque revues, and showcases for the works of the students in our home school programs.
This is all in addition to our regular schedule of weekly classes (30) offered September through May and our summer programming Our programming remains consistent but also flexible so we can provide affordable space for local, regional, state and national visual & performing artists, dancers/choreographers, musicians and composers to perform.
